Angeles Samaritan Missions (ASM) Spring 2025 Update

Dear Gospel Partners,

Thank you for your faithful prayers and generous support for Angeles Samaritan Mission (ASM). For those who are new to ASM, we are excited to introduce you to our mission and invite you to watch our new Intro Video. We were blessed to host our 2nd Annual ASM Fundraiser Dinner on April 5th, a wonderful evening of worship, ministry updates, and prayer. Here’s what your support has helped accomplish:

Vietnam | National Training for Church Planters

Missionary Paul Lee, our inaugural Young Jin Choi Seminarian Scholarship recipient, shared a video update on the March National Training for over 100 Vietnamese church planting pastors. With ASM’s support, these pastors—many feeling isolated and even persecuted—were encouraged and equipped to shepherd their congregations across 400 miles and 5 provinces. This initiative directly aligns with our mission to “Preach and Teach the Gospel.”

USA and Nigeria | Seminarian Simeon Nyihemba

Our current scholarship recipient, Simeon Nyihemba, is studying at Westminster Theological Seminary California. He shared a moving testimony of growing up in Nigeria, coming to faith, and sensing a call to evangelism. Despite challenges—including leaving his wife and two sons behind due to visa limitations—God provided financially through multiple scholarships (including ASM’s) and a youth pastor role at Onnuri Church San Diego (part of a global missions church from Seoul).

Praise God for answered prayers — his family’s U.S. visa was approved and they will be joining him this week!

Malaysia | Missionary Paul Jung Choi

Missionary Choi reported on several impactful developments:

  • Village Church Van:
Thanks to your generosity, a pre-owned van was purchased to help church members and newcomers attend Sunday services.
  • Worship Equipment:
A new sound system and instruments now support weekly worship at the expanded Kampar flagship church.
  • Youth Dormitory Expansion:
A new girls’ dormitory will open this summer, increasing capacity to 25 junior high students. These Orang Asli (the indigenous people) youth are adapting to urban schooling and praise God thatl current students are believers!
  • Youth Sports Ministry:
Rural youth now participate in indoor sports in the city of Kampar and hear the Gospel—many for the first time—thanks to the van purchased by ASM.

Missionary Choi was also able to exhort the attendees that the best year of their lives could be ahead of them. He said he believed that his most satisfying and impactful years of gospel stewardship were between ages 68 to 80 years, while he was a full time missionary in Malaysia. He reminded us that many of us are at a crossroads in life and not to be afraid of the future, but to be hopeful and embrace the possibilities to even serve in missions as well.
